In 2017 we won an international competition held in Holland, developed and run by the Play the City group. The competition focused on planning and design of physical games that address different urban issues. After winning the competition, we were invited to attend a conference in Rotterdam, where we presented the games that we developed in an exhibition at Het Nieuwe Instituut – a museum of architecture, design and digital culture and we conducted workshops for participants. The conference attracted designers and urban game lovers from all over the world, and featured dozens of projects that incorporate various game methodologies in order to cope with complex, diverse urban issues ranging from planning issues like affordable housing and urban renewal, to humanitarian issues like refugee migration.
